Mindi Sheer

Mindi Sheer teaches and performs in the Inland Northwest. She teaches a variety of dances including salsa, latin ballroom, ballroom, bachata, swing, and works with wedding dance couples and has been teaching for 12 years and moved to this area in 2019.   She directs the DE Dance Ensemble, a group (join us!) that focuses on the artistry of Latin Ballroom dances and music.  She has a background in social dance styles, competed for 10 years (Am/Am) and is a 3-time National USA DanceSport Amateur Latin Champion with her former partner.  The competition floor led her to somatic training and she is a Registered Somatic Movement Educator – a factor which shapes how she teaches beginners or advanced dancers. Her other ‘hat’ professionally as an ecologist has led her to create opportunities for people to dance outside, and she has directed site specific dance projects in Atlanta and Spokane.  She currently teaches at SomaSarana (Kendall Yards), and other spaces ( Premier Ballroom, 509 Collective) in the Inland Northwest.
